I had the pleasure of visiting the Bridge House Hotel for their Wedding Open Day on Sunday 7th August 2016. The Bridge House has been considered one of the top wedding venues in Ireland for many years , hosting weddings for couples from all over the country and it’s easy to see why its such a popular spot when you visit.
From the moment your foot steps onto the red carpet on the stairs leading to the entrance you are greeted with a touch of luxury. You are welcomed by the friendly concierge and the doors open onto an arrivals reception that would be hard to match. As your eyes feast on the beautiful foyer, a grand staircase with an amazingly impressive chandelier (every girl that walks through the door will picture themselves in their wedding dress on that staircase !) , a display of vintage dressers hold a delicious array of pastries, scones, freshly brewed tea and coffee and a selection of seasonal drinks. This comes as standard in all packages which is a gorgeous touch. As your guests enjoy the warm welcome that the Bridge House is famous for, they will be treated to a champagne reception as they welcome the Bride & Groom.
You have a choice of 2 fabulous function rooms, The Millenium Suite is a stunning setting with ornate chandeliers and romantic décor and is ideal for catering for 50-180 guests. The Charleville Suite is the larger of the rooms, capable of accomodating 140-350 guests. It is pure luxury, again with a romantic and almost regal décor it is a truly beautiful backdrop for your reception.
Your room of choice will be decorated in style with fabulous chair covers and sashes, themed lighting, centerpieces, candleabras and floral arrangements. The tables were dressed in a variety of styles on the Wedding Open Day which was a bonus as any couple arriving to view would be able to see different ideas and style options available.
Your menu choices are amazing and as someone who has attended weddings here I can honestly say the food is delicious and never fails to please. The service is a well oiled machine and this is another bonus when you are wanting the day to run smoothly and your guests to be looked after in an efficient manner. For the evening menu, you have some treats in store ! I was totally in awe of the spread, which included pizzas, chips, sandwiches, a popcorn machine and all sorts of delicious nibbles. Very quirky and would surely be a talking point with your evening guests.
There are other little extras that are included ; a Fairylight Backdrop, large LOVE light up letters, a wishing well plus you have the option of hiring your candy cart direct from the hotel which saves you another headache !
If you’re worried about the photo opportunities considering the hotel is bang in the middle of the town then DON’T ! The hotel has their very own SECRET GARDEN which you will love and they can also help you organise some photos in the amazing Charleville Castle, Tullamore Dew and local park, all a short distance from the hotel.
One of the most important things to consider when planning your venue is whether your point of contact in the hotel, their wedding Coordinator, is someone you can easily work with and is someone who makes you feel at ease and confident, you will not be disappointed in this in the Bridge House. I spoke to Antonia who is absolutely lovely to deal with and nothing is too much trouble. This will make a massive difference to you as your day comes closer, if you have a good relationship with your venue then it makes the process so much easier and keeps the stress levels down.
So big thumbs up for the Bridge House Hotel, you can visit their website HERE or phone them on 05793 25600 , with packages starting at €49.95 you can’t go wrong !
